From South America to South Asia to stand at the base of Everest — it still doesn't feel real. The trek was perfectly organized, the guide exceptional, and the Khumbu region unlike anything I've experienced anywhere. The photos online don't do it justice. The mountains look big in photos — in person they are incomprehensibly enormous. You feel genuinely small among them but in the best possible way. Day 5 to Tengboche with Ama Dablam right there — I literally gasped. Guide Tenzing was patient and knowledgeable, the tea house owners warm and welcoming. Then Kala Patthar at 4am in every layer I owned. Perfect.

Very well organized throughout. Guide Lakpa was a true professional with great English and encyclopedic mountain knowledge. Altitude management was genuinely impressive — pulse oximeter checks morning and evening, mandatory rest days, conservative daily altitude gain. Zero AMS issues in 14 days. Base Camp was overwhelming. Kala Patthar was transcendent. Worth every dollar, every hour of training.

Did this for my 30th birthday and it was the best gift I've ever given myself. I was nervous about altitude sickness — I've always been prone to headaches — but the guide caught a slight dip in my saturation at Lobuche before I even mentioned symptoms and adjusted my pace immediately. By next morning I was fine. That level of care is priceless. Reached Base Camp and Kala Patthar both. Achievement unlocked.

The organization before the trek was faultless. On the trail, guide Nima could identify every peak visible from every viewpoint, explain the geology of the glaciers, and share Sherpa folklore by the fire every evening. The Khumbu region is more beautiful than any photograph suggests. Everest from Kala Patthar at sunrise is the most beautiful thing I will ever see in my life. 5 stars without hesitation.

This was a birthday gift from my husband and it was perfect in every way. Guide Lakpa was wonderful with our mixed group. The tea house food was much better than expected — dal bhat, garlic soup, apple pies in Namche. What I wasn't ready for was how culturally moving the whole experience would be. The Tengboche Monastery, the memorial at Thukla, the prayer flags at Base Camp. A deeply beautiful journey.
